The Unsung Hero of Gaza!

By: Mr. Zed

1.

Today, I woke up early to the news,

The leader is alive

The lion is roaring

The king is ruling over the streets

But once, there was a rumor

The soldier has been martyred in the street of Palestine.

But it’s only a tricky illusion

Created by the military of Israel

Just to cover the blue sky.

2.

But the fact is fact

I have to accept,

The sun is set

The moon is gone.

My king is martyred

And I stand alone,

In the field of battle

He’d thrashed them all alone.

  • Note: This poem consists of two parts, the first one (Nonet) was written on the day of martyrdom of Yahya while the news of his martyrdom was expected to be false. The second one (Octave) was written after few days of his martyrdom, when we (The Ummah) had nothing to choose but to accept that he is no more among us.
